The short version

Board Together is an offline puzzle game. It does not use sign-in accounts, analytics, ads, or cloud sync. Your scores, settings, and any boards you make stay on your device. The one exception is store purchase handling by Apple or Google.

Who runs this

This game and this site are operated by Eat Chess Games ("we", "us"). If you have any privacy questions, email hello@eatchess.com.

Data the app keeps locally

  • Named local high scores, including the player names you type on the round-summary screen, plus lifetime totals for boards solved and games played.
  • Your saved settings: timer, hearts, and board defaults; selected theme and handwriting font; sound, haptics, and accessibility preferences; and saved player names.
  • Recent-board memory used to avoid repeating the same boards too soon.
  • Any custom boards you create or import on the device.
  • On iPhone, iPad, and Android, a local record of which optional in-app purchases you own, so unlocked content stays unlocked.

In-app purchases

Board Together: Math Practice on iPhone, iPad, and Android is fully playable for free and offers optional one-time in-app purchases, such as extra board packs and a themes bundle. The core game does not require any purchase. Board Together: Math Plus on Mac includes the board packs and themes without in-app purchases.

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play. We do not receive or store your name, payment-card number, or billing address; Apple or Google handles that information under its own privacy policy. To unlock purchased content and to support "Restore Purchases," the app checks your purchase history with the app store account on that device. This does not create an account with us.

Data the app does not require

  • No account sign-in.
  • No analytics, advertising SDKs, or remote tracking.
  • No cloud save or background sync. Shared-screen co-op and local two-device play stay local to your devices.
  • No location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.

App stores and the operating system

The iPhone, iPad, and Mac versions are distributed through Apple's App Store, and the Android version is distributed through Google Play. Apple, Google, and the operating system may collect some information about app installs, purchases, crashes, diagnostics, and aggregate usage independently of us as part of operating their stores and platforms. That data is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one. If you opt in to share diagnostics with developers, Apple or Google may forward anonymized crash or diagnostic reports to us. We use those only to fix bugs.

Children

Board Together is suitable for all ages, including kids and families. Because the app does not collect personal information from anyone (child or adult), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Removing local data

Because the app stores progress, settings, and custom boards on your device, deleting the app removes that local data. The in-app Reset High Scores action also clears local records without a reinstall. On iPhone, iPad, and Android, in-app purchases are tied to your Apple ID or Google account rather than stored by us, and can be restored with Restore Purchases.

This website

This site is a small, mostly-static page hosted by Cloudflare. Cloudflare may log standard request information (such as IP address, request time, and user-agent string) for security and abuse-prevention purposes; that logging is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy policy. The site itself does not set advertising cookies, run third-party analytics scripts, or share information with marketers. The Google Fonts CSS is loaded from Google's CDN to render typography.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how the app or site handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app or site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
